BRITISH RACING GREEN HILL CLIMB MEET | SHELSLEY WALSH

The second meeting of the Shelsley Walsh season saw the British Hill Climb Championship hit the hill for rounds 9 and 10 and the Midlands Climb Championships for Round 7 & 8 at the British Racing Green Meet. It was another two day event which saw practice runs on the Saturday and then two timed runs on the Sunday to qualify for the two top 12 run offs. MIDLANDS HILLCLIMB CHAMPIONSHIP | RD 5&6 – LOTON PARK

The sun was beating down on Loton Park on Sunday 18th May for the latest rounds (RD’s 5 & 6) of the Midland Hill Climb Championship. The familiar format of practice runs the day before with the timed runs on the Sunday consisting of two top 10 run offs, one just before lunch and then one at the end of the day was the line up for the weekend. It’s time to Speed Into Spring! as scorching hot weather made for a great weekend of hill climbing at the Shelsley Walsh for Rounds 3 & 4 of  the Midland Hill Climb Championship. Split into two days with practice on Saturday and timed runs on Sunday, the track temperature along with the action got hotter and hotter as the weekend progressed. MIDLAND HILLCLIMB CHAMPS | RD1&2 – PRESCOTT

After a wet day on the Saturday the vast field were relieved to have a drying day on the Sunday. CORBEAU CLACTON RALLY

“MORE than 6,000 thrillseekers descended upon Tendring for a trailblazing motor rally” was the headline in the local paper (The Gazette) following the Corbeau Seats Clacton and Tendring Stage Rally, which was the first event of its kind in England to make use of new legislation which enables closed roads for Motorsport. This mammoth and landmark event was undertaken by the Chelmsford Motor Club, a club that is well known for its organisation of events such as the Brands Hatch Stages. IVINGHOE SPRING TRIAL | 2018

On the 15th April 2018 Falcon Motor Club held its annual spring car trial at Aston Farm, Ivinghoe, a venue set out in the shadow of Ivinghoe beacon in the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside. Made up of grassy hills, the venue offers up its own little amphitheater which lends itself perfectly for off road car trials of this kind. The meeting at Loton Park Hill Climb was set over two days, of which each compromised of two practice runs before lunch then two timed runs in the afternoon. Held on a National B Permit the event was open to competitors of 4 wheels, 3 wheels and 2 wheels machines and as usual a vast array of cars and bikes were out in action.
