BTCC | RDS 19|20|21 – THRUXTON

With Rockingham no longer on the BTCC calendar the teams returned to Thruxton for a second outing this weekend. The round in May was dominated by the WSR BMW’s but with a mid season change in the balance of performance, the advantage swung back in favour of the front wheel drive cars the track is more suited to. Despite there being a two week gap from Snetterton the battle between old team mates Plato and Sutton was being discussed by media and fans alike which filled the gap until this…

BTCC | RD 16/17/18 – SNETTERTON

The traditional summer break is one that seems to drag its heels for drivers, teams and spectators alike. With the return to racing, however, the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship descended upon Snetterton and where once the rumble of American bombers rolled across the Norfolk countryside, today it is home to the sounds of action, excitement and motorsport. The talking point of the weekend was the decision to dispense with the traditional tyre compound selection. For the first time, all 3 compounds were available to use, albeit one tyre…

BTCC | RD 13/14/15 | OULTON PARK

Oulton Park hosted the fifth round of the BTCC, and marked the halfway point in the championship. The title battle is now slowly beginning to take shape, with Turkington leaving Croft as the championship leader and Rory Butcher just behind, despite not having the best of weekends at the Yorkshire circuit. Andrew Jordan has impressively clawed his way back into third, a great feat considering he picked up zero points at the Donington round after a big shunt in the first race, an impact which would see him miss out…

BTCC | RD 7/8/9 – THRUXTON

The third round of the British Touring Car Championship headed to Hampshire and the quickest track on the calendar at Thruxton. Ash Sutton went into the three race meet in the lead of the championship by a small margin, but the double race win at Donington by Colin Turkington had moved him up to third in the championship,  just behind Josh Cook. Parts of the Hampshire circuit had been resurfaced over the winter period, which would likely mean that what was already a quick track was probably set to become…

Throughout the Free Practice (FP) sessions, turn 3 collected the most victims for crashes and the tyre choices were a bit of an issue for most riders. Yet again one of the big named riders fell into the trap of not getting a good…
