IVINGHOE SPRING TRIAL | 2018

On the 15th April 2018 Falcon Motor Club held its annual spring car trial at Aston Farm, Ivinghoe, a venue set out in the shadow of Ivinghoe beacon in the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside. Made up of grassy hills, the venue offers up its own little amphitheater which lends itself perfectly for off road car trials of this kind. The event formed part of the following trials championships: MSA South East, ASEMC, AMSC and the BTRDA and once again this was well supported with a full entry being announce in the…

RALLY NUTS STAGES | 2018

The 45th running of this Midlands Manor Motor Club organised event had some changes for this year, many will know it as The Severn Valley Stages (or going a little further back , The Mutiny). A move in its date being the main one from an early June slot in the rallying calendar (which it has held in more recent years) to Mid April this time around where it makes its welcomed return to BTRDA Rally Championships; of which it hasn’t been a part of since the eighties. This opportunity…

Llandudno once again was the host for the opening round of the 2018 BTRDA Rally Series alongside the Pirelli Welsh National Rally Championships. NO GAMEPLAN AT THE WOODPECKER STAGES 2017

As we entered the back end of the 2017 season we made a welcomed return trip to the Woodpecker Stages, another BTRDA & Welsh National round which is based out of Ludlow. And with our return to this event also a return to a stage that we haven’t been to in a long time…… Radnor. We don’t have a great knowledge of the Radnor Forest so arrived with not much of a game plan in hand, after a fairly decent walk from the car park we found a bit of…

BRC+BTRDA+WNRC = NICKY GRIST STAGES 2017

For the second year running the Nicky Grist Stages organised by the Quinton Motor Club played host to the MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) alongside the BTRDA Gravel Rally and Welsh National Rally Championships. This was our only taste of the MSA British Rally Championship this year but not our only instalment of the Welsh National or the ever popular and probably our favourite series from the BTRDA; and so with these three great championships coming together how could we resist? Saturday; Day 1 of the event was based on…

PLAINS & SIMPLE | PLAINS RALLY 2017

To start with, here’s bit of a history lesson on the Plains “The Plains first saw the light of day in 1964 when, as rallying was beginning to increase in popularity, it made its debut as a road rally based in the lanes of the Cheshire Plain from which it derived its name. Under the guiding hand of its creator Alan Jolley it grew in stature, a major decision being to move the event from Cheshire to the more demanding and exciting lanes of Wales. In 1971 the event was…

CAN’T TAKE SNOW MORE | CAMBRIAN RALLY 2017

It was with great anticipation that we headed to North Wales for the opening round of the 2017 BTRDA & Welsh National Rally Championships, however things were not to kick off our rallying season as we had hoped. As we got closer and closer to SS1 Alwen the weather conditions worsened, a layer of snow was already on the ground and was continuing to fall as we trekked into stage, hmm this is going to be interesting we thought. The stage went live with the first competitor, Tom Cave and…

NICKY GRIST STAGES 2016

It’s the middle of July and the weather up on the military ranges Senniebridge is not what we had hoped for, early morning mist struggled to clear and the rain just kept on coming. But this event is a bit of a bonus, where in the words of the Spice Girls, “Two Become One”, yes that rights the MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) and the BTRDA Forest Rally Championships meet on the gravel stages of the Epynt to do battle.
