In 1965 Mynydd Epynt received its first taste of stage rallying courtesy of the newly formed Port Talbot Motor Club; offering up a place for steel workers who lived and worked in the region to share their passion for Motoring and Motorsport. BRC+BTRDA+WNRC = NICKY GRIST STAGES 2017

For the second year running the Nicky Grist Stages organised by the Quinton Motor Club played host to the MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) alongside the BTRDA Gravel Rally and Welsh National Rally Championships. It’s the middle of July and the weather up on the military ranges Senniebridge is not what we had hoped for, early morning mist struggled to clear and the rain just kept on coming. But this event is a bit of a bonus, where in the words of the Spice Girls, “Two Become One”, yes that rights the MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) and the BTRDA Forest Rally Championships meet on the gravel stages of the Epynt to do battle.

TOUR OF EPYNT 2015

Its Tour of Epynt time and our first trip onto the Military ranges of South Wales this year and for the second consecutive week its terrible conditions for standing out in the elements all day. The Port Talbot Motor Club run event is the first round on the MSA Asphalt Rally Championships and being on the infamous smooth tarmac roads of the Epynt ranges, it’s a cracking event and the ultimate test for the competitor that is guaranteed to sort the men out from the boys.
